Southern Utah University - MBA Welcome Gift Program
The opportunity
Create a student empowering, branded gift experience to welcome 500 MBA students to SUU’s Programming.
The strategy
As part of the enrollment process, the program allocated a set budget per student to offer a gifted “MBA” branded item to get them excited about the journey they were about to embark on together. Building a popshop to serve as the engagement platform for 500+ students across the country was an ideal strategy.
The solution
Building a tailored collection of gifts that held a value at that budget point, we were then able to build a popshop platform that served to offer a shopping experience to the students. This allowed the student to have the power of choice with their welcome gift, while minimizing the risk for inventory management for the program. All of this with coded access so only approved users could redeem their welcome gift. This also allowed the program to offer customized merchandise to their students that they otherwise would not have access to.
The outcome
The program was a huge success and became a regular part of their admissions cycle. Students greatly appreciated having access to exclusive MBA merchandise as a welcome to the program gift from the university. And empowering the student with choice was very well received.
