The complete story

How the program came together

  1. 01

    Opportunity

Harvard Law School wanted admitted students to receive a welcome that reinforced the school's standing and built excitement for the year ahead. In a competitive admissions environment, the arrival experience is one of the few tangible touchpoints between an offer and enrollment. Club Colors was asked to develop a personalized admission kit that would make admitted students feel welcomed and recognized, and that would give the school a consistent way to make that first impression at scale.

  2. 02

    Strategy

The approach started with the "why" rather than the product list. Across several meetings over the summer, one insight drove the direction: feedback from admitted students themselves. Students said they wanted a more personalized experience combined with high-quality, practical items they could actually use on campus. Club Colors refined the kit design against that input, so the assortment and the personalized elements were both answering something students had asked for rather than an internal assumption.

  3. 03

    Solution

For the 2025 admission kits, Club Colors produced a fully customized Harvard box built around the unboxing sequence. Each box held a personalized acceptance letter and a welcome letter from the university, so students saw their own name first. Alongside those pieces, the kit carried practical branded items for campus use: a Harvard-branded baseball cap and a beanie, both embroidered with the Harvard shield. Personalization and everyday utility were designed as one experience rather than separate components.

  4. 04

    Outcome

The program became a talking point on campus and was featured on the school's LinkedIn page. Students noted that the package reflected the feedback they had given. In the school's own words, the project "enhanced HLS's branding and supported yield by delivering a package that was practical, memorable, and thoughtfully crafted." The kit also gave admissions a repeatable structure — a personalized letter paired with campus-ready branded items — that can carry from one admitted class to the next.
