The complete story

How the program came together

  1. 01

    Opportunity

The Skaggs School of Pharmacy at CU Anschutz wanted to improve how it welcomed students entering the program. The existing approach to gifting was assembled by staff, which took time away from other work, and the result did not carry the personal, on-brand feel the school had in mind. The school needed a welcome experience that reflected the program's identity and could be repeated each term without the manual assembly and coordination it required.

  2. 02

    Strategy

Club Colors approached the welcome gift and the operational burden as one problem. The Brand Advisor worked with the school to define a kit that was functional for students and clearly tied to the pharmacy theme, then designed the fulfillment model alongside it so the school would not assemble or store anything. Every component was checked against university brand guidelines so the kit read as an extension of the program rather than a collection of promotional items.

  3. 03

    Solution

Each kit included a custom-branded mug, a sticker, gold and black crinkle paper, candy, and a personalized card, all built around the pharmacy theme and packed as a finished unboxing experience. Club Colors implemented a stock-and-hold fulfillment model, storing the assembled kits in-house and shipping them to designated locations as the school needed them. The school placed one program decision instead of managing components, assembly, storage, and shipping separately.

  4. 04

    Outcome

The school moved from staff-assembled gifting to a turnkey program: kits arrive assembled and on-brand, and shipping happens on request rather than requiring internal coordination. Students receive a consistent, themed welcome tied to the program's identity. The existing copy documents that the initiative has evolved into an ongoing, collaborative program between Club Colors and the School of Pharmacy, which gives the school a repeatable structure for each incoming class.
